Since my son has realized that his biggest challenge was reading and taking AR (Accelerated Reading) tests, he has really been working to beat OBST. Recently, he earned 100% on an AR test! Also, he received an email from my Mom wishing him well. I let him read it on my cell phone while we were going to school and he said to me, “Check this out Mom! I am beating OBST. Did you see how fast I read that email from Grandma?”
This is so exciting for me because he is actually relating his challenge with reading to Outsmarting OBST. It is so great that he has a concrete object to use now. I am going to work on letting him on the website a little more to see how he does. I like what it offers. I am thinking about making a chart that we can use to show how many challenges he is overcoming. I am very excited about how far he has come already! I believe it is because of his teacher as well. If I was the only person doing this, I think he would be less responsive.
